Evelyn G. Butler
has been President of the
Livonia Bar Association
since 2004. She received her
law degree from Wayne State
University, cum laude, in
1985 and opened a general
practice firm in Livonia in
1992. Her practice focused
on civil litigation with a
concentration on civil
rights cases. During her
time practicing in Livonia,
she had two civil lawsuits
resolve in excess of $1.5
Million. She is the founder
of Law for Living, PLC an
entity whose mission is to
broaden access to justice
through various educational

Lesley Knapp has been
Vice President of the
Livonia Bar Association
since 2005. Ms. Knapp
graduated from the
University of Detroit,
School of Law, where she was
a member of the law review
and president of the student
body. She has been a member
of the State Bar of Michigan
since 1982 and has practiced
law in Livonia, as a member
of Kanter & Knapp, since
1999. She specializes in
criminal defense and family
law in courts throughout
southeast Michigan. She

John Larkin
is a former President, Vice
President and Treasurer of
the Livonia Bar Association.
He received his law degree
from the University of
Detroit School of Law in
1991 and opened a general
practice firm in Livonia in
1993. He is on the Board of
Directors for the Livonia
Boxing Club, as well as, the
head coach of the 2001
Livonia Mite A Travel Team.
Mr. Larkin regularly
volunteers his legal
services at Holy Trinity
Legal Clinic in Detroit,
Michigan. He practices in
the areas of civil
litigation, personal injury,
criminal law, traffic law
